Seven (7) year-old boy identified as Salieu Jallow on Saturday the 4th of September 2020, was found dead and dump in an uncompleted building in a village called Dasilame in Brikamaba in the Central River Region.
According to source, the body of the late Salieu was discovered by his grandmother Juma Camara who found the body put in a bag and dump in an uncompleted building outside the village.
Juma added that the missing of Salieu was unexpected and said Salieu was very kind child she described. Camara who was crying added that the demise of Salieu is a great lost to the family.
Sources said after the dead body was found, members of the community including the police, health workers, Red Cross were all present and the body was taken to the Brikamaba health center by the police and later transfer to Bansang hospital for a medical reasons. According to unverified source Salieu was beaten to death and dump outside the village.
Alasana Jallow father of the late Salieu said the demise of his son is a great lost to the family. Jallow further urged the police to deeply investigate the matter and find out the cause of his son’s death.
According to Cherno Salieu Baldeh a native of Dasilame village, Salieu Jallow was missing on Thursday night on the 3rd of September 2020 and the information was share among the community and the matter was reported to the Brikamaba Police Station. There an immediate investigation was mounted to find out where the boy is.
Baldeh describes the incident as shocking to the whole community. He also urged the government of The Gambia to increase the number of security personals during the curfew time.
During the weekend, members of the Dasilame community all engage on the investigation to find out where Salifu was in the community but unfortunately; Salifu was nowhere to be found until on Saturday. Members of the community describe the incident as shocking and called for urgent investigation to be done by the police. They all pray for Allah to grant the disease a high rank in Jannatul Firdaus.
