Covid – 19 should be everyone business

Muslims  Hands – The  Gambia through the Support of its Parent body Muslims Hands International ( UK) as part of its contribution towards complimenting government efforts in the fight against Covid- 19 in the Country recently donated Personal Protective equipment , and sanitary materials to communities in Kombo East , Kombo South , Kombo North and Kanifing Municipality.

Among the beneficiaries of these materials includes, Mosques, Community health facilities and security border post within the respective communities. And the office of the governor of west Coast Region

Speaking at a brief presentation held at the office of the governor shortly before the Muslims Hands officials depart for the field distribution to the communities Ebrima Mass a board member of Muslims Hands -Gambia noted that Muslims hands has been existing in the Gambia for the past 25 years and it has been supporting communities, orphans and the unprivileged during Ramadan and Tobaski .

He pointed out that with the recent reopening of mosque in the country the organization felt the need to support many mosque and communities to observer safety preventive measures during the time of worship adding cleanness is key as far as covid – 19 is concern.

He called on the beneficiaries to always wash their hands before entering a mosque and use face mask.

He stated that Covid – 19 should be everyone business noting this is the main reason for the support adding that government cannot do it alone.

Binta Sey Regional National Disaster Management Coordinator West Coast Region on behalf of the regional Covid- 19 task force committee described the donation as timely noting that the donated items will greatly help the people of West Coast and its environs.

She said with the increase of Covid – 19 cases recently communities should adhered to advice of the Ministry of Health.

She thanked Muslims Hands for the support they have been rendering to the region over the past years noting that the donation of the essentials sanitary materials is not a surprise to the region because Muslims hands are close partners. She assured the donors that the items will be judiciously use for the purpose it is meant for.

Ba Jerreh Demba representative of the governor of West Coast Region also thanked the donors for their support adding that West Coast value a lot the support Muslims Hands is doing in West Coast.

He also disclosed that Muslims hands has constructed mosque and dug lot of wells in the region noting that their contribution to covid-19 is a blessing to the country.
