Mr President, the plight of the people of Sabi Ward is neglected by your government and none of your campaign promises has been fulfilled. In terms of road infrastructure, electricity and access to good quality health care service is a total failure.
Starting with health care services, the Sabi health centre where the communities and the ward always go to when they are sick and needed treatments is totally ignored by your government. Absolutely zero attention is paid to this health centre which leave the community with no option but to go to Basse hospital for all their health concerns.
The most irritating and challenging part is how to reach that hospital with bad road conditions.
There are serious concerns raise by the residence in these communities over lack of infrastructure, good social networks, good health care facilities or any other meaningful developments for the people of these communities of Sabi Ward.
We have never enjoy electricity. Only one village out of 19 villages has electricity since 1965. No single road is constructed across this communities.
We have been crying for road problems and electricity since independence but politicians continue to promise us during election campaigns but after being elected we are dumped & forgotten until the next election. The entire Sabi Ward is connected by only one major road. This road has connected more than 42 villages both Basse constituency and Tumana constituency are all suffering from these bad roads.
This means your Govt. is interested only our votes but when it comes to developments we are magnilased and never been considered.
Any road you see in Sabi Ward is been constructed by the communities. Even bridges are constructed by our people from diaspora and some local assistance.
We are asking the government of Adama Barrow and the minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure this question. Why is Sabi Ward not been considered for the 10.4 million Euros money for feeder roads construction? The ministry and the President himself are all fully aware that the road from Sabi village which connect Sare Pirasu, Fass Bajong, Sare Doulo, Bajong Fullakunda, Baniko Kekoro, Baniko Banta, Touba Tafsir, Sabu Sireng and many other villages to Basse are all struggling for access to good road.
These roads are serious concerns for the entire ward. This road is completely destroyed by erosion caused by heavy rain falls. The Barrow government continues to ignore the plight of the people of this communities. They only realize we are alive when they need our votes period. They pay less or no attention at our fundamental human rights when they are elected in the office.
President Barrow is almost at the end of his 5 year term and he is only managed to construct a small poorly constructed bridge at Kumbija village which has just recently caused a very serious accident due to the poor planning of the bridge.
The plight of our people and communities remains our concern.
