Pan African youth movement challenged the African heads of states to respect Presidential term limit to avoid unnecessary political unrest which Africa is confronted with and has greatly undermined the holistic development of the African continent .
Speaking to this paper, Omar Jack, the communication Director of the movement said that each country is supposed to be governed through the dictates of the constitutions. He said most of the African countries in this generation advocates for only two term limit, which some presidents want violates for their selfish interest and insatiable taste for power, thereby creating ways for political conflict. The Director told the Daily News that Africa is a continent which is blessed with so much natural resources, which can be used to develop the continent without depending on the western support ; but he was quick to say that , this does t exist in the eye of leaders who disregard the rule of law .
The Pan African leader , went further to challenged ECOWAS, to observe the way the leaders rule in their countries in order to avoid scenario that happened in Mali which ended up with the involvement of the military which ECOWAS frowned at. He added that ECOWAS should equally address the current political turmoil in Guinee Conakary, and Cote Voire before its too late.
He concluded by renewing calls on African heads of states to respect the term limits for the greater good of Africa .
