Isatou Jallow and Lamin Colley were on Tuesday arraigned before the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court charged with giving false information to police officers.
Jallow and Colley have since denied the two-count charges of conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor and giving false information to public servants. When charges were read out at the court in English Language and translated into Wollof Language which both accused persons understood, they pleaded “not guilty.” The presiding magistrate Christiana Leone Derrick later granted bail to the accused persons to the tune of D10, 000 each and one Gambian surety. She also ordered that the sureties should surrender their National Identity Cards to the registrar of the court.
The two accused persons were not represented by any lawyer during Tuesday’s sitting while Sergeant 2294 Jammeh appeared for the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the case continues on 6th August, 2018 for hearing.
