Bakau NAM Condemn Police Action

Honorable Assan Touray of Bakau told the Daily News that the throwing of teargas into his home by the police intervention Unit (PIU) is an infringement of the human rights of him and his family.
He told the Daily News that The PIU unit came drove pass his home whiles he and his family were sitting outside , only for the vehicle they were in stopped and reverse to his gate. ”I hear someone saying this is the honorable home, as I attempt to walk to the vehicle the men started firing teargas, then I retreat and ask family members to stay indoors” Hon Touray said.
I personally contacted one A Basangeh , PIU Commander and he promise to look into it; but nothing came out of it up to the time I speak to the press, Assan said. The honorable member said he did not only stop their but also contacted the Operation Commander, Landing Bojang who later rang off the phone in his ears.
The causalities included a mother of the former Member of the National Assembly honorable Kalifa Jammeh who is closed to 100 years with a lot of minors.
Hon Touray said he is very disappointed in the manner the police threw teargas into his private home for no just reasons. He said all that he and his family members are doing was sitting outside chatting.
The Bakau NAM also expresses his total disappointment about the whole situation as the trespass did not only stop at his home but other parts of settlement.
Former Bakau NAM also said the teargas was fired very close to his home too, leaving much causality which including as young as two year old. He too express his disappointment.
Meanwhile Honorable Touray has since reported the matter at the Bakau police and he hope , the police will take the matter seriously.
