Following the December 4th elections and haven been declared winner of the election by the Independent Electoral Commission, Barrow shall be sworn in today at the Independence Stadium to take up office.
Sources close to the corridors of the Presidency, said President Barrow will begin a new five year term soon after he took oath of the office. Some five years ago, Barrow was forced to take oath on a foreign land (Senegal). The December 2016 presidential elections was not hitch free; as the former president refused to accept results after already congratulating Barrow for winning the elections.
The president is expected to be sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Gambia in a very colorful ceremony today.
