Bensouda to Lunch D180 Million EU Funded Project

Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) under the leadership of the Lord Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda will on Tuesday 15th March 2022 launch a 180 million Dalasis grant project from the European union.

The council in partnership with Peterborough City Council in the United Kingdom plans to:
– construct a modern state of the art public library in KMC
– establish a community radio station,
– and a customer care center for Kanifing municipal residents.

The project will also plant:
– 190,000 trees within the Municipality,
– develop parks and playing grounds for children, women and the differently abled as recreation centers.

It will provide 7500 compounds with waste bins, develop waste collection centres, establish a recycling initiative that targets a zero waste future for the Municipality.

The official launch date of this innovative project is billed for the 15th of March 2022 at the KMC head office.
