Belgium Friends of The Gambia (BFoTG), who arrived in the country last week, have commenced donation of educational, health and agricultural items to their sponsor’s students.
The beneficiary students are attending the following schools in Regions One and Two namely; Jambangjelly 64, Bakoteh Upper 24, Bakoteh Proper 25, Bakoteh Senior 19, Bakoteh Annex 23 Nyodema Nursery 35, and 68 of their sponsors students who attended Nyodema Nursery School but are now in Upper Basic, Senior Secondary Schools and Skill Centers also benefited from the kind gesture.
The Chairman of the Belgium Friends of The Gambia (BFoTG) Patrick de Vos, said the presentation of the items was in commence at Jambangjelly on Friday and then to four Bakoteh Schools, Nyodema Nursery School and other institutions around Nyodema Schools respectively.
He informed beneficiary sponsor students in those schools mentioned above that their friends in Belgium did not forget about them last year, but due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, they were unable to send their packages to them.
“These are your friends who have the interest of you people at heart as future leaders of The Gambia. They want to better your lives in order to become responsible leaders in future who can decide what is good for you what not,” Patrick told sponsors students.
He assured students and their school administrations that his organization will continue to render sponsoring them while also advised them (students) to take their education seriously.
Head teachers of Jambangjelly and four other Bakoteh Schools and Nyodema Nursery School appreciated the help Belgium Friends of The Gambia are offering to their students and schools for the past years.
They commended the organization through, Patrick and wife, Christa for having concern of our future leaders whether in kind or in cash while promising that the items donated will be taken care of.
