Sixteen Councillors out of 28 of which  total 2 are expelled; considered the expelled Chairman of Brikama Area Council as illegally occupying the post of Chairman of BAC; and should vacate immediately the seat in accordance with 2015 Local government Act.

Below is the unedited text:

We, the undersigned Councillors of Brikama Area Council hereby jointly make a statement to officially declare our position with regards to the circumstance   surrounding the Chairmanship at Brikama Area Council. With reference to the expulsion of  Sheriffo Sonko from the United Democratic Party, the undersigned Councillors of BAC wish to acknowledge the expulsion of Sheriffo Sonko from UDP.

Therefore, we unanimously stand to uphold and observe the local government Amendment Act 2015 and its due application. The undersigned councillors hereby this notice and wish to disassociate or abstain from any General Council activity involving Sheriffo Sonko.

By laws as stipulated in the local government Act we swore to uphold, Sheriffo Sonko is illegally occupying the office of Chairman at BAC. So In the light of this circumstance, we the undersigned Councillors of BAC would not have any meeting with Sheriffo Sonko until the law takes its course.
