Sulayman Junkung Sawaneh, a Gambian based in Denmark over the weekend donated three fridges and three Flat screens to three health Centers in the North Bank and Central River Regions.
The materials were handed over to the Officers-in-Charge (OIC) at the three beneficiary Health Centers by the donor’s Gambian counterpart, Mr. Kalilu Jaiteh at a brief presentation ceremony held at the said health Center’s premises.
The beneficiary health institutions were: Illiassa Health Center in the North Bank Region (NBR), Dankunku Health Center and Kudang Health Center all in the Central River Region (CRR).
Jaiteh presented the items on behalf of the donor, Sulayman Junkung Sawaneh were he disclosed before health personnel the previous donations made by Sawaneh to the health facilities across the country.
Jaiteh explained that the donation was a goodwill gesture from Sawaneh to the Gambian people adding that: “Sulayman Junkung Sawaneh is concerned about the welfare of Gambians and non-Gambians residing in the country.
According to Kalilu Jaiteh, the donor, Sawaneh has been supporting health facilities in the country for more than 20 years. He said now all are geared towards contributing his part to the nation building.
“There are no health facilities in the country that didn’t benefit from Sawaneh’s kind gesture and he (Sawaneh) didn’t only stop at health facilities but did offer to help to Prisons and other areas. Be assured that Sulayman Junkung Sawaneh will continue his good initiatives,” Jaiteh informed health personnel.
Saikou Leigh at Illiassa H/C, Marenah OIC at Dankunku H/C and Yaya Gibba OIC at Kudang H/C both lauded Sulayman Junkung Sawaneh for his timely support, and they promised that the donated items will be wisely utilized.
“We knew the donation was made because of the love and concern Sulayman Junkung Sawaneh has for his country and we will appreciate it if he (Sawaneh) continues with his humanitarian gesture,” health personnel stated.
