DR MBOWE SAYS JAMMEH CURES HIV, HERBS WORKS

BY FATOU DAHABA

Dr. Tamsir Mbowe, former Director General of Yahya Jammeh’s Alternative Treatment Programme, told the TRRC that as far as he is concerned all patients whose viral load where undetectable were cured. The trained medical doctor said Jammeh’s herbal medicine were effective for the HIV/AIDs.

It could be recalled that some patients from the treatment testified that they were never cured when they were leaving the treatment and are now taking the ARV medicine that they were taken.

It is also reported that so many patients die during the course of the treatment and some immediately they left the program.

Dr Mbowe refutes all this allegations but he has no physical record to back his claims.

The witness alleged that only 4 people died during the treatment program that he can confirm, noting the alleged 10 people were mere assumption.

He endorsed that Jammeh has a medication that eliminates HIV/ AIDs. He said the traditional medicine that Jammeh was using worked. He said the promise cure by Jammeh was fulfilled.

Mbowe claimed that the laboratory tests were all true but he acknowledged that about 13 or 14 were included in the tests that were not infected with the virus.

He said Jammeh never touched his female patient’s genital but he do rob the breast with medicine which to him is normal if the person is your patient.

He admits that if the viral load is 25, that is what is classified as undetectable. He further states that it is not only the herbal that defines traditional medicine but animal products as well.

However, he admits that no scientific research was done to verify and see how effective the medicines were, which means 31 people died altogether, and 10 during the treatment.

Hearings continues tomorrow with the NIA.
