GDC Leader Urged Supporters Maintain Discipline

The Leader of The Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) Honorable Mamma Kandeh has urged the supporters of the party to maintain discipline after losing the Niamina West By-election and the councillorship in Kerr Jarga Ward in the Jokadou district.

Speaking in a whatsApp audio earlier on Saturday night after the official announcement of the election victory which falls in favor of the National People’s Party (NPP) headed by  President Adama Barrow.

Honorable Kandeh express profound gratitude to all supporters of the GDC.

Honorable Kandeh said, the people of Niamina West and Kerr Jarga Ward in Jokadou have decided and it’s not for GDC to decide he said. ” I urged all GDC comrades to keep the faith and not to be discouraged after losing the parliament and councilor seat”,he said.

The opposition leader added that this is just the beginning of the work and the biggest is coming ahead that’s the 2021 presidential election and urged supporters to have hope that they will win that election.

GDC boss said everyone should work harder and he refused to blame anyone for losing the by-election in Niamina West. “It is up to people to said that but not me Kandeh explain”.

 

I want to grab this opportunity to thank Honorable Lawyer Ousainou Darboe the leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP) and its supporters for the support they offer GDC during this campaign Kandeh  said.

 

Hon Kandeh also congratulates the elected member Birom Sowe and urges the people of Niamina to not allow politic to divide them. “politician will come and go but Niamina will remain”, he ended.
