Govt. Block COVID Donations Worth Over 350,000

The ministry of Women’s  Affairs and Social Welfare blocked COVID -19 donations worth over D350, 000, the Daily News can confirmed.

A source disclosed to the Daily News that, the Mayoress of Banjul Rohey Malicck Lowe did promise the Children Shelter at the SoS village with a bore hold and some other items, such as   face masks, bed sheets and detergent to improve the conditions at the Shelter.

Earlier the management of the Shelter was faced with water challenges, and the Banjul Mayoress promise to step in. However when all was set for the items to be presented to the Shelter, there were directives that unless the Mayoress put in writing to the ministry through the Permanent secretary the Shelter cannot receive those items.

When this medium(Daily News) contacted the Permanent Secretary to  throw light on the matter she insist that unless the Mayoress was reach she will not throw any light on the matter in hand.
