NPP Sweeps 2 By-elections

The National People’s Party (NPP) won the two by-elections in the November 2020 by-elections in the Niamina West Constituency and the Kerr Garika wards  respectively.

Hon Awa Gaye of NPP scored 1364 votes, whiles UDP scored 257, and APRC scored 446 and GDC 700 votes. The election were a results of keenly  contested elections.

At the Niamina West parliamentary by-elections , where only two political parties contested , NPP and GDC, Hon Birom J.S.Sowe scored 1716 votes whiles the GDC’s candidate, Yero Jallow scored 805.

Reports reaching the Daily News  from the two places , Jokadou and Niamina West  constituency , the elections went on well with no major hitches.

Both honorable Birom Sowe and Awa Gaye will be the first elected representatives of the newly formed Adama Barrow’s NNP political party.
