Perai 9 Appear in Banjul High Court

The remanded Perai 9, appeared before Justice Landing Sanneh at the Bajul High Courts Wednesday 26th August 2020 after spending a little over a month at the Jamjabureh prisons. The 9 are Nfally Fatty, Folonko Sannoh, Basseh Sanneh,Baba Suwareh, Ba- Luntang Jaiteh, Mankangmang Sanneh, Mbemba Suwareh and two others

The above are charged with arson, the case could not proceed as the prosecution applied for an adjournment to familiarise with the charges, which the defence lawyer did not oppose and the vace is adjourn to 1st September 2020.

It could be recalled that, two communities ( Perai and Waliba Kunda villages )  in the Tumana district are battling bovver a strip of land that lies between the two. These two villages have being living side by sides for almost two hundred years.

There was a district tribunal judgement which was in favour of Waliba ; however the Peria villagers appealed at the High Court which ordered the Perai villagers to farm on the farm.

The matter is now adjourned to September 1st 2020  for continuation.
